Ο Tim Cook ανακοινώνει πρόγραμμα φιλανθρωπικών δωρεών

Η Apple παρουσίασε ένα νέο πρόγραμμα φιλανθρωπικών δωρεών στη μορφή “matching donation” ύψους $10,000 τον χρόνο.

Την πρωτοβουλία για την κίνηση αυτή έλαβε ο νέος CEO, Tim Cook, ο οποίος κοινοποίησε την απόφασή του με εσωτερικό e-mail στους υπαλλήλους της εταιρείας.

Προς το παρόν η δυνατότητα αυτή απευθύνεται μόνο στους υπαλλήλους των ΗΠΑ αν και αναμένεται η διεθνής εφαρμογή της αρκετά σύντομα. Το “matching donation” λειτουργεί ως εξής:

Εάν ένας υπάλληλος της εταιρείας επιθυμεί να κάνει μια δωρεά σε κάποιο μη-κερδοσκοπικό ίδρυμα, τότε η Apple θα καταθέσει το ίδιο ποσό με τη σειρά της έχοντας ως ανώτατο όριο τα $10,000/χρόνο. Για παράδειγμα, εάν ένας υπάλληλος καταθέσει $100 σε ένα ίδρυμα η Apple θα προσφέρει άλλα τόσα.

I am very happy to announce that we are kicking off a matching gift program for charitable donations. We are all really inspired by the generosity of our co-workers who give back to the community and this program is going to help that individual giving go even farther.
Starting September 15, when you give money to a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Apple will match your gift dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000 annually. This program will be for full-time employees in the US at first, and we’ll expand it to other parts of the world over time.
