Σημαντική νίκη πέτυχε η Apple εναντίον της Motorola Mobility

Σημαντική νίκη πέτυχε η Apple εναντίον της Motorola Mobility στην Γερμανία όταν δικαστήριο στη χώρα αποφάσισε υπέρ της σε υπόθεση παραβίασης πατέντας.

Συγκεκριμένα, η απόφαση αφορά την πατέντα με αριθμό EP1964022 που σχετίζεται με το ‘slide to unlock’ του iPhone. Η απόφαση του δικαστήριου είναι τελική αν και η Motorola μπορεί φυσικά να ασκήσει έφεση.

Ωστόσο, η Apple μπορεί αν θέλει από σήμερα κιόλας να εφαρμόσει το ένταλμα εις βάρος της Motorola, η οποία θα αναγκαστεί να τροποποιήσει το λογισμικό της κατάλληλα προσφέροντας μια ελαφρώς χειρότερη εμπειρία χρήσης.

Ο Florian Mueller αναφέρει:

The court evaluated three different embodiments. Apple won on the two that Motorola’s smartphones implement. It did not prevail on the third one, which the Xoom tablet uses. That implementation is very similar to what I have on my Samsung Galaxy Note: the user has to make a swiping gesture from the inside of a circle to the outside. It requires a relatively large screen to work somewhat well, but even then it’s not very intuitive. (I’m a very happy Galaxy Note user, but it has its shortcomings and the slide-to-unlock circle is one of them.)
